Job Description

About the role

The Hotel Services Employee plays a vital role in delivering high-quality residential aged care services through the provision of cleaning, laundry and food service support.  Working collaboratively with care and hospitality teams, the role contributes to a safe, clean, comfortable and welcoming home environment for residents.  The Hotel Services Employee is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation, supporting positive dining experiences, and ensuring the effective management of linen and personal clothing.  By adhering to infection prevention and control requirements and promoting safe work practices, the role contributes to the health, wellbeing, dignity and quality of life of all residents while supporting a person-centred approach to care and service delivery.  We are looking for 3 new casual Hotel Services Employees. 

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience working in cleaning, laundry, hospitality services, or a similar role.
  • Has a clear understanding of and commitment, to the Mission, Vision and Values of Harbourside Port Stephens .
  • Effective communication skills including verbal and written.
  • Ability to use workplace technology including accessing the intranet and email, complete on-line training, submitting leave requests and other employee functions.
  • Ability to work flexibly, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating reliability, accountability and a strong work ethic
  • Understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, including safe manual handling practices and infection prevention and control principles relevant to hotel services.
  • Commitment to providing services that support the dignity, comfort, wellbeing and quality of life of older people.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with residents, families, visitors and colleagues.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience working in an aged care, healthcare, hospitality or residential care environment.
  • Knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and the importance of person-centred service delivery.
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) Certificate.

  • Functional Assessment.
  • Accreditation check of qualifications.
